President Prabowo Subianto led a limited meeting attended by several Red and White Cabinet Ministers in President Prabowo’s residence in Hambalang, Bogor Regency, on Sunday (03/16). The meeting held on the weekend showed a strong commitment of President Prabowo to ensure the implementation of national strategic program on target.
The limited meeting focused on discussing the acceleration of national downstream in various strategic sectors, such as mineral, coal, aquaculture, agriculture, and plantation. The President along with his cabinet ministers evaluated the progress of downstream projects, including analyzing which projects can have significant impacts on job creation and equality for the economic development in Indonesia.
The relevant ministries and Danantara institution also did a deep analysis of the readiness of implementation in a number of designed downstream projects. The President also stated that the projects should not only focus on economic growth, but also involve the local communities, such as farmers, fish farmers, and business actors in the projects.
Although the meeting was held on Sunday, a number of cabinet ministers came to receive orders from the President. Their presence on the weekend reflects the seriousness and dedication of the Government to oversee the downstream policies as one of the keys to strengthening the national economy.
“Today, we hold a meeting on Sunday. We express our appreciation to Mr. President because his cabinet should attend a meeting on holiday. This shows the concern and seriousness of Mr. President in overseeing and monitoring the programs that he ordered to his ministers,” said Minister Bahlil in a press statement after the meeting.
In addition to discussing the downstream progress, the meeting also discussed investment equality in many regions so that the economic growth benefits can be experienced by the society evenly from Sabang to Merauke.
For the record, the meeting on holiday shows that there is no free time for President Prabowo and the ministers to execute the development mandate. The Government is fully committed to ensuring that the downstream program runs on target, professionally, and has a direct impact on the welfare of the Indonesian people.
