President Prabowo Subianto has embarked on state visits to Singapore and Russia, marking the beginning of Indonesia’s active diplomatic efforts to respond to shifting global dynamics and reinforce its strategic presence on the international stage. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said the President would begin his overseas trip with a visit to Singapore.
“Before heading to Russia, President Prabowo will first visit Singapore to meet with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and attend the Singapore-Indonesia Leaders’ Retreat on June 16, 2025,” Teddy said in a statement on Sunday (06/15).
Following his engagements in Singapore, President Prabowo will continue his trip to Russia at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. He is scheduled to receive an official state welcome and hold a bilateral meeting with President Putin.
“In Russia, President Prabowo—who was personally invited by President Putin—will be officially welcomed in a state ceremony and is set to hold a bilateral meeting on June 19, 2025,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy said.
On June 20, 2025, President Prabowo is also scheduled to deliver a keynote speech at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2025, a prestigious global economic forum that brings together world leaders, business figures, and economic experts.
“This state visit is highly strategic in strengthening the comprehensive partnership between Indonesia and Russia. It also reflects how Indonesia, as a major nation, is increasingly recognized on the global stage—especially amid a growing number of global challenges,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy said.
