President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Thursday (7/11) kicked off a working visit to Lampung province.
President Jokowi and his entourage took a flight from the National Monument Field, Jakarta, at around 07.30 Western Indonesia Time, using the Indonesian Air Force’s Super Puma helicopter.
Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat M. Yusuf Permana said that the President would land at the Jati Kalianda Stadium Helipad, South Lampung regency and would visit General Hospital dr. H. Bob Bazar, SKM to inspect its health facilities and services.
“After inspecting the hospital, the President will inspect the implementation of water pump assistance for irrigation of rice fields and agriculture in Bandan Hurip village,” Yusuf said.
Afterward, the President is slated to visit Kebangsaan Senior High School in South Lampung to inspect educational facilities and inaugurate the Jokowi Learning Center (JLC) Building.
From South Lampung regency, President Jokowi will continue his working visit to North Lampung regency.
“In North Lampung regency, the President will visit Kotabumi central market and inaugurate the project of the Regional Road Presidential Instruction (IJD) in Lampung province,” Yusuf said.
As part of the working visit, the President paid a visit to the General Hospital Dr. H. Bob Bazar, SKM in South Lampung regency, Lampung province to inspect health facilities and services provided to communities, especially participants of the Social Security Agency for Health (BPJS Kesehatan).
Director of the hospital, Reny Indrayani, said that the hospital is a type-C hospital that provides various services and specialist doctors. The hospital boasts 26 specialist doctors, but still needs specialists in several fields, including cardiologists, interventional neurologists and cancer specialists.
Reny expressed hope that the Government will provide more health facilities for the hospital, adding that most of the patients at the hospital were BPJS participants.
“I hope the Government can provide more facilities and build more inpatient wards. Every month, we have approximately 400 to 500 inpatients, while the available beds are only 250,” Reny said.
Patients of the hospital, Ruslinawati and Syahrani, expressed their gratitude for the BPJS services for low-income communities.
“Thank God (BPJS services) are good and reliable,” Syahrani said, adding that she had regularly received treatment at the hospital since 2016.
Ruslinawati also expressed her satisfaction with the hospital and BPJS services, while expressing hope that the Government can upgrade the hospital with more complete health facilities and equipment.
For the record, during several hospital visits, President Jokowi highlighted the importance of improving health facilities, services and human resources in Indonesia.
