The Government has expressed optimism that Indonesia’s economy will continue to post a positive growth by optimizing state revenues from various sectors.
“The 2025 state revenue is projected to reach Rp2,996.9 trillion, consisting of tax revenue of Rp2,490.9 trillion and non-tax state revenue of Rp505.4 trillion; while maintaining investment climate and environmental sustainability as well as accessibility of public services,” President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo said at the presentation of the Government statement on the bill on the State Budget for the 2025 fiscal year and its financial note before the plenary session of the House of Representatives, Jakarta, Friday (08/16).
The President also reinforced his commitment to continue implementing tax reforms through the expansion of tax bases and the enhancement of compliance of tax-payers, improvement of governance and tax administration, as well as the granting of directed and measured tax incentives.
“We continue to take measures to augment the non-tax state revenue by utilizing the technology for planning and reporting, strengthening governance and supervision, optimizing state asset and natural resource management, and pushing for service innovation,” he added.
According to the President, the budget deficit in 2025 is set at 2.53 percent of the GDP or Rp616.2 trillion, sourced from the utilization of prudent and safe financing sources.
“The Government continues improving the effectiveness of investment financing, encouraging policies of innovative financing with the Public-Private Partnership scheme, including through the strengthening of the Indonesia Investment Authority, and Special Mission Vehicle, as well as the enhancing of financing access for lower-income people, MSMEs, and ultra-micro businesses,” the President said.
The Head of State also expressed hope that the open employment rate would hover around 4.5 to 5 percent next year and the poverty rate be curbed to 7 percent to 8 percent, adding that the Gini ratio can be kept in the range of 0.379-0.382, and the Human Capital Index can be set at the level of 0.56. In the meantime, the Farmers Exchange Rate is expected to improve to 115-120 while the Fishers Exchange Rate is kept at 105-108.
“We hope the deliberation of the 2025 State Budget Bill can be convened in a constructive manner to realize an Advanced, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia according to the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045,” President Jokowi remarked. (TGH/ABD) (GWH/EP)
