President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (07/01) ordered Minister for State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reforms Abdullah Azwar Anas to prepare scenarios for relocating state civil apparatus to the new capital of Nusantara (IKN).
After attending an internal meeting on the Relocation of State Apparatus to Nusantara presided over by the President, the Minister said that there are three scenarios as follows.
Firstly, the relocation of the state civil apparatus at ministries/agencies to Nusantara must be done gradually.
Secondly, the recruitment of state civil apparatus candidates will be carried out in July – August this year.
“We would like to announce that we will carry out the recruitment for 130,341 state civil apparatus candidates for the Central Government. 600 positions are for the IKN Authority, and 40,021 positions are for ministries/agencies in Nusantara,” Anas said, while underscoring that five percent of 40,021 positions will be allocated for the younger generation from Kalimantan.
Thirdly, job transfer for state civil apparatus in regional governments around Nusantara.
On that occasion, Anas also pointed out that the state civil apparatus must be highly qualified talents and good at digital multitasking to provide digital services in line with the electronic-based government system.
The Minister also underscored that the relocation of ministries/agencies was carried out through a systematic screening scheme considering several aspects.
“Firstly, the strategic role of the ministries/agencies, as well as aspects of competitiveness and economic independence. Secondly, the role of the ministries/agencies as a decision support system, a strategic enabler, and a defense and security system. Thirdly, the risks,” he added.
Furthermore, Anas also said that President Jokowi underscored that the relocation of Indonesia’s capital does not only change its physical infrastructures but also transform mindset and work culture and empowering our human resources. (KS/DNS) (AP/RAS/MUR)
