President Prabowo Subianto showed his full support to the Indonesian National Football Team (Timnas) by visiting them at Fairmont Hotel Jakarta on Tuesday night (03/25). The President’s presence burst their enthusiasm for the Indonesia vs Bahrain match in the AFC 2026 World Cup Qualifiers at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Main Stadium, Jakarta.
President Prabowo arrived at Fairmont Hotel at 19.05 Western Indonesian Time (WIB) and was warmly welcomed by the team and officials. With complete excitement and intimacy, President Prabowo greeted each player before they got on the bus to the stadium.
Minister of State-Owned Enterprises and Chairman of the Indonesian Football Association Erick Thohir, who joined the occasion, expressed his appreciation for the President’s visit and enthusiasm for all players. Erick delivered a message from President Prabowo to the Garuda Team, a nickname for Timnas, to keep up the good work and give their best for Indonesian football.
“The President conveyed his message for the national team, we should be a great nation equal to other nations around the world through football. President Prabowo acknowledged the amount of effort, but we must try our best because this is the nation’s dream, so good luck and give your best tonight,” said Erick Thohir in his press statement.
This short but meaningful moment was a form of appreciation and commitment from President Prabowo for national football and support to the Garuda Team who will make the country proud on the international stage.
